Don't Be Stingy - Come and Share Your House Cleaning Tips

Does anyone have/use robot vacuum cleaner?I have been watching a few videos on youtube and was just wondering how good they actually are. In some of the videos it seemed that the robot just went in random directions and may have not actually covered the whole floor?Any opinions?

I just got one and it cracks me up. It does a decent job (its no dyson) but it is nice to sit and read or tidy something else while it does the floors.
I don't think it gets everywhere, but I tend to run it several times a week and figure that if it doesn't get it one day, it will get there the next time.

I have named mine"rover".

I will say that the dust bin is really small and that the filter clogs up really quickly, but I have two dogs and I think there are very few vacuums that can handle that kind of fur output.

Oh, sound's not bad. But I heard that because its roundness, it can't clean square coners very well.Is it true?
It has a side sweeper brush that projects out and sweeps the corners. So it picks up larger lint and debris on bare floors but your right the carpet isn't vacuumed right in the corner.

I see the roomba as more of a daily thing and then give the house a good vacuum with my more powerful upright once a week to get what was missed. Just having the roomba on the job during the week has really reduced the time spent vacuuming over all.

Definitely worth it to me.

The idea behind robotic devices like robot vacuums is to liberate people from unpleasant daily chores and free up their time. Vacuum-cleaning robots can be used not only for private homes but also for offices, stores and many more. Robot vacuums change the way we clean. Roomba is a robotic vacuum.

One of my clients decided to buy a robot vacuum cleaner a few weeks ago, and he just called me up and said that it just isn't the same as having a real human doing the vacuuming. You might save a bit of money in the long run on labor costs, but machines are not as efficient at cleaning than humans.  While they can be used to bring convenience, the quality of the work will never be perfect, specially if you've got carpeting.
